Published on December 29, 2011, by in Photography.

click photo to view video I’ve arranged some of my photos from my 5-day Chicago trip during summer 2011 into a Shockwave flash video.  My Chicago sojourn was part of my fast 3-week trip to the USA, my first return since moving to China in 2006. You can also view it as a PowerPoint presentation on Slideshare.net. You can see my travel presentations, including my photos from Tibet, Nepal, and India, on the Travel page.

holidays in Chengdu

Published on December 25, 2011, by in Chengdu, Photography.

Ego store – one-eyed holiday creatures   It was a rare sunny Saturday afternoon, and an even rarer free day.  I took my camera to the Chunxi Road shopping area for a glimpse of the holiday insanity.  Christmas decorations are everywhere, even though it isn’t a Chinese holiday, but the shopping frenzy is making great inroads into the Chinese urban lifestyle. After lunch at a local food court, I had a hot chocolate at Starbucks, then went to a pet store to buy a dog coat for my, um, dog.  Some new rawhide bones too.  I bought some food, then went home to spend the rest of the weekend napping and watching movies on DVD. Merry, merry.   Dior tree     Lollipops and candied fruit     Louis Vuitton display
